Disclaimer

Before you use any calculator on FitCalcPH, please take two minutes to read this page. We built this site to give Filipinos access to accurate, free fitness calculators. But accurate tools still have limits — and being upfront about those limits is part of being a responsible site. This page tells you exactly what our calculators can do, what they cannot do, and when a calculator is simply not the right tool for the situation.

Our calculators are informational tools — not medical advice

Everything on FitCalcPH — every calculator, every result, every number you see on this site — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. None of it is medical advice. The results you get from our calculators are estimates based on widely used scientific formulas and the information you enter. They are useful starting points for understanding your body and planning your nutrition. They are not diagnoses, prescriptions, or personalised health plans. No calculator — no matter how accurate the formula behind it — can account for everything that makes your body unique.

Medical history, underlying conditions, medications, hormonal factors, and dozens of other variables affect how your body actually responds to food and exercise. A calculator cannot see any of that. A qualified professional can.

Always consult a qualified professional

If you have any existing medical condition — including but not limited to diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, or any condition affecting your metabolism — please speak with your doctor before making changes to your diet or exercise routine based on anything you find on this site. The same applies if you are: Pregnant or breastfeeding — calorie needs during pregnancy and nursing are specific and should always be guided by a qualified healthcare provider, not a general calculator. Under 18 years old — the formulas this site uses are designed for adults. Results for minors may not be accurate and nutritional guidance for younger people should come from a paediatrician or registered dietitian.

Managing an eating disorder or a history of disordered eating — calorie-focused tools are not appropriate in this context and professional support is strongly encouraged. Recovering from surgery, illness, or any medical procedure — recovery nutrition is specific and should be directed by your medical team. When in doubt, always ask your doctor first. That is not a formality — it is genuinely the right call.

Our results are estimates — not exact measurements

The Mifflin-St Jeor equation that powers our calculators is one of the most validated formulas in nutrition science. Studies show it is accurate within approximately 10% for most healthy adults. But within 10% means the number you see is a well-informed estimate — not a laboratory measurement of your actual metabolism. Real metabolic rate is influenced by factors no formula can fully account for — including lean muscle mass, body composition, gut health, sleep quality, stress levels, and individual metabolic variation.

Use your result as a starting point. Track your actual intake and your body’s response over two to three weeks. Adjust based on what actually happens — not just what the calculator predicted. The calculator gives you a number to start with. Your body tells you whether that number needs to go up or down.

We say it because health decisions are personal, and the person best placed to make them — with proper guidance — is you and your healthcare provider, not a website.
